We, Country Market, Howth, owners of countrymarket.ie value your privacy and data protection and are fully GDPR compliant. We have outlined our how any data is collected and who and where is it stored, what purposes we use it for and how long the data is held for. If you have any questions, just get in touch with us through our contact form.
A Brief Overview
The personal data collected via our website is based on what you enter yourself, for example in our forms or chat and what it collected as a result of analytics. By using our website, you agree to the use of these and have a choice if you wish to enter your personal data or not.
GDPR is now EU law which gives control to individuals on how their data is used.
We store the minimum information required to provide you with the service, share it only with GDPR-compliant processors when required for operational purposes, and do not let any other third-party link, track or access information about our users.
Country Market is food speciality shop also a physical business based in Ireland so we work under the jurisdiction of Ireland.
We are happy to offer the same level of privacy protection to all our users, not just those who are resident in the EU.

Shopping Process
The details you provide in the shopping process are collected in order to deliver your shopping to your home or pickup at our shop in Howth. We are required to keep financial records for 5 years however if you wish to delete your personal data in the meantime, please contact our DPO.
We will email you details about your orders and you will have an option on the confirmation order email to opt in for our offers through our newsletters.
Emails & Newsletters
We offer a newsletter option for offers and new products. You have the option to opt in to this either via our website or from an order confirmation letter. Every email will offer an unsubscribe option. All unsubscribes are deleted at the end of the year. If you wish to have your data deleted in the meantime, please contact us on hello@countrymarket.ie
Reviews & Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

We use Google Analytics and occasionally Facebook pixels in the form of tracking code to monitor our website. Their privacy policies are connected via the links provided. We use these to help us optimise our website and use these platforms to reach our audience in marketing campaigns.
In the event we use other tracking code, we aim to list it here. Please be assured, we only ever use tracking for our own benefit and never pass on analytics collect to other parties.

Clearing Cookies in your browser settings will remove any cookies collected.

Where Data is Stored?
All records (e.g. Name and contact details/photos) are stored on electronic devices (such as laptop/phone/ipad) and all devices are protected with passwords only known to the user.
All software we use it thoroughly checked for GDPR compliance.
Our online shop is run on WooCommerce which is fully compliant.
Some of our emails are sent via Mailchimp and always includes an unsubscribe button. You can request deletion at any point.
Our web hosting services, Siteground and are also fully compliant with GDPR.
Who has access to your records and why?
The management team of Country Market have access to your records directly. We value privacy and will ensure our team will always do the same. In all cases where a third party is involved, our DPO has ensured that these companies are fully compliant with GDPR.
How long we retain your data?
Our policy is to retain data for max 2 years after the last interaction. Data protection law requires interaction to have taken place within 12 months. After this period, the data is marked for deletion every 3-6mths and will be deleted on the following cycle check. However, all records will be deleted at any time if you request it in writing.
If you leave a review or comment on your website, the review/comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data?
DPO may be contacted for all matters relating to your personal records. All requests for
destruction of records or requests to receive or amend records should be made
directly by email and confirmed by email read receipt and delivery.
